Hello everyone

I wanted to do a year in review post as it’s the first year that my blog is live. Daly Fashion Fix isn’t even a year old actually. If you haven’t been following me on Snapchat you might not know my story. It’s nothing out of the ordinary really. I have lived out of Ireland for the last 7 years, in London and then Australia. Last August myself and my boyfriend moved back home to Ireland and are now living in Dublin. Well between Limerick and Dublin for me, for now. I wanted to start a fashion blog for quite a while but never felt that the time was right, until now. I am one of those people who thinks one of the best parts of a night out is getting ready and picking out my outfit. I love putting outfits together and keeping up with new collections on the high street. I love the selection of brands and shops in Ireland. In my opinion, there is a far better selection than in Australia, especially Perth,so when we decided to move home I thought it was the perfect time to start my fashion and beauty blog.

If you have followed me for a while you will know I primarily write and post and fashion but I also love all things beauty and hair so like sharing my tips and finds on those topics too. I write about what I feel like writing about at the time, I don’t really plan my posts, they just happen.

This year has been a crazy but great year and I just want to take this opportunity to thank you, all of my lovely followers, for your lovely comments on my social and blog posts, the whole point of the blog is to share my finds and outfit ideas with people who are interested in my style so your feedback makes it all worth while.

I didn’t really know what to expect when I started the blog. Since it launched, I have been a nominee for “Most Stylish Blogger” with Hi Magazine, I have been invited to some amazing events such as the Alexandra Moura SS17 presentation at London Fashion Week and press days with some of Ireland’s leading retailers. I’ve even had the opportunity to do some radio interviews about my favourite seasonal trends, which is what the blog is all about. I know the blog will evolve and the direction that it is going will change over time so I’m just going to see where it takes me in 2017. My main aim for the blog in 2017 is to create even more interesting and engaging content for followers and to attend events which will enable me to give you the heads up on upcoming trends and how to wear them.

My favourite outfits of 2016

To conclude I wanted to run through my favourite outfits of the year and my top buys of 2016.

My favourite outfit this year would have to be my outfit for the Hi Magazine Style Awards. The Ivory Closet gave me a gorgeous Alex Perry dress for the night and I absolutely loved it. Find the full blog post on this look here.

Another favourite would have to be this outfit I wore in Australia. The orange dress is from a boutique in Indonesia called Bamboo Blonde and the boots are my beloved Steve Madden “gorgeous” boots. Find the blog post with all my favourite summer outfits here.

My top buys of 2016

My top purchases of 2017 would have to be my GHD wand (let me know if you would like to see a tutorial in 2017 on how to use your wand to create gorgeous beachy curls), my black cross body Coach bag and my Steve Madden “gorgeous” over the knee boots, both pictured below. I have just purchased a pewter coloured Marc Jacobs bag with gold hardware which I think could be one of my new favourites for 2017.

I’d love to get your feedback on what type of blog posts you like the most so make sure to leave comments on what ever social media you follow me on. I’m off to get ready for the Walking On Cars NYE party now so will finish up. Happy New Year to all my lovely followers, thanks for your support throughout the year.

Love O xx
